Sorry to the non-brony watchers, I promise I'll be doing non-pony related stuff again soon :-).

Twilight is the character I can relate best to, and this is not an unfamiliar situation to me :-/.
Used a couple of reference pictures for the details, so I could to match the style of the show as closely as possible.
This took WAY to long to make... I'm used to just drawing single ponies, but since I wanted this to be perfect, I spend the same amount of time on each drawing in the comic :O... I was planning on doing a background too, but then I ran out of pony, and just made it dA themed.

Also, not it's not the subphylum Hexapods (insects) Twillight is talking about. She's talking about superclasses under the subphylum Vertebrate, where "Tetrapod" describes vertebrates with four legs, and then "Hexapod" would in contrast describe vertebrates with six legs, if they existed.

So what DO you get when you cross a dragon with a chicken?

Inner Scientist: Hmm...I don't know. Because dragons are believed to be part of the reptilian family, and birds such as chickens are genetically close to reptiles (as such have a similar DNA). In reality it is possible to artificially combine the DNA of any two organisms (ex. the rabbit Alba was the result of a rabbit with jellyfish DNA (specifically the gene for bio-florescence) and as such glowed under a black-light) combining the two would lead to an interesting scenario depending on how much of each gene is expressed in the new organism.

Inner MLP Fan: LOL, oh Twilight.

My preferred answer is the alternate comic, "dragon chicken sine theta". ^_^

Here's what I would do:
I would listen to the joke, and then say that the two can't actually genetically reproduce.
